ISLAND BOOKS is a locally owned independent bookstore serving Newport County since 1993. Our centrally located store in Wyatt Square in Middletown proudly serves both the year-round and seasonal communities of Aquidneck Island. Rhode Island Monthly has named us the best independent bookstore in Newport County every year since 2006!

Have a robust selection of cookbooks and books about gardening and green living. Rounding out our wide-ranging inventory are sections in art, business and personal growth. Of course, no bookstore is complete without a children’s section full of classics and new favorites for all ages. Ours is second to none!

Just as important as our books is our outstanding service. Our booksellers delight in helping our customers find just the right book. If there is a title that is not on our shelves, we will order it for you, and in most cases have it in your hands in just a couple of days.
